Summer Winners
We had another successful festival! Thanks to all the local sponsors, teams, friends and family who made it out to the screening last Saturday Night. We raised over $500 dollars for the Lawrence Humane Society in Lawrence.
Here are the winners for the Wild West Film Fest Summer 2010
1st Place: No Mercy for the Evil
2nd/Peoples Choice: Slaptastic
3rd: Allied Soviet Services
If you missed the festival, or didn’t grab one, AstroKitty Comics will be selling DVD’s of the films from Saturday Night for only $10 bucks! We hope to upload the winning films to the wild west youtube page and directly on the website soon. But for starters:
Finally, team captains will be receiving judging notes soon. Keep an eye out for those.
“What a great opportunity for young filmmakers to show their craft for good causes. Everybody wins!”
“The Wild West Film Fest has been bringing it to the Lawrence film scene. It is one of the best examples of what filmmakers are looking for in a festival.”
“The Wild West Film Fest puts filmmaking back into the hands of the people. It’s indy film in it’s purest, grittiest form. A great opportunity for local filmmakers to get their work seen by audiences.”
Where are the judges’ notes??
Hey guys,
Weren’t we supposed to receive the judges notes sometime last week? Some info as to what’s going on would be appreciated. Thanks.
Judges’ notes? Any update?
An update on the judges notes would be appreciated. It has been approximately 3 weeks since we were told that we were going to recieve it and still there is nothing in the email and no update as to what is going on with them. ANY info would be appreciated.
My team really wants to know what the judges thought! Please some update or info! Thanks.
Judges notes?

Hello?

Now batting…
Anybody receive the judges notes yet? I sent an email over a week ago hoping to get a response…. but I have not received one yet.
Still no judges notes. Apparently a film community that is run by people who do not care that much about the fairing of the people who put forth a tremendous amount of effort to be a part of such a challenge as a 48 hr film festival. Definitely disapointed.
Dude, saw your post on the website today. I’m so sorry you haven’t
gotten the judges notes. I was surprised because I could of sworn I
sent you judging notes earlier this fall. After digging around my sent
folder I find the email I thought I had sent, but apparently I got
your email address wrong. Really, really freaking sorry about that. We
do care about all the hard work you guys put into your film. You guys
were one of the few teams to take a more dramatic approach to your
film. A 48 hour festival is a challenge as is, but you guys took it a
step further and really challenge yourselves. That is the type of
films we love to see. Its those films that make our festival so great.
As a whole, I was blown away by all the films. It seems like every
team stepped it up like never before. It really hit me how much of
community the festival has have helped create at the after party,
hearing teams talk about their 48 hour experience. It was great and
hurting that community is the last thing I want to do.
I hope this mess doesn’t keep you away from the October festival. I’d
love to see what you guys do with the horror criteria.
Sorry again,
WWFF Team
