The Wildest 48-hour Marathon Film Fest In The Midwest

This Friday!

Monday, October 19, 2009

Hope everyone is ready for the 48 hour competition this weekend! We are getting things in place as we gear up for Fridays kick off. Remember, teams can pick up entry forms Friday October 23 from 7pm-10pm at Henry Coffee Shop on 8th Street or Hollywood at Home in Overland Park. Entry only cost $25 per team.

We’ve been contacted by a photographer who has a super cool project idea. Basically he wants to make posters for some of the projects. Here is what he sent us if your interested:

The idea behind making a film (even if it’s just for fun… And it always is) is to have people watch them and be moved in one way or another by what you as a filmmaker have created. So whether it’s a feature film or a 5 minute short, my job as a marketing Photographer and Designer is to enhance yours and your viewer’s cinematic experience.

What I do:
I show up to your set and quietly shoot with my Canon 5D Mark II. The production stills will be given to you (the filmmaker or team) on a CD for free. I, then, use your plot and the stills to make a real size, professional quality theatrical poster (also on a CD) and/or print out.

I will be at Henry’s along with the Filmworks gang. I’ll pass out Business Cards and have a chat with all of you.

Ok, So I noticed on the video it said that the screenings will be on November 1st. . . but it has also been posted that the screening will be on October 30th. Some help asap here would be much appreciated. Need to know what day to take off. Thanks!

The screening IS in fact Sunday Nov 1. That is an error on the website. We’ll try to get it fixed as soon as we can.
      Thanks

If we’re not going to sign up in Lawrence, where are we supposed to go? The website says Fred P. Otts on the Plaza, and it also says Hollywood at Home in OP,KS. Which one should I go to?

If you are in the KC area-Hollywood at Home is where you need to go! In the past we have done it at Fred P. Otts, but this year pick up and drop off will be at Hollywood at Home.
      Sorry for the confusion

Are credits included in the total running time? or can we have an extra 20 secs. for credits, making a total running time of 5:20.

Credits are NOT included in total time. And you can have an extra 30 seconds for credits making a total running time of 5:30
