First of all, Congrats to all the entries in this years festival. I can honestly say the competition keeps getting tougher and tougher, (which ‘aughta mean we’re getting better and better as a community of filmmakers, right?) and we’re seeing a wider array of films and filmmaking talents.

To the organizers – Well done. I really think this year benefited from several different changes that were made, most notibly, giving the judges more time with the films. I dont know about the other teams, but I know we loved receiving the detailed feedback. We werent sure how the “theme” part was gonna play out. Tough to judge films in different genres. For example, THE SHAWSHANK REDEPTION is a drama, while THE ABYSS is an action/scifi. I love both films, but how do I put one over another? In reality though, it seemed to make the evening more enjoyable by branching the films out over the different catagories, so we werent just watching the same film over and over and over. Overall this year just felt more polished and put together than in previous years, and I really like the idea of the DVD with everyone’s films on it. On a side note, we miss the trophys! Bring those back!

    - To the participants this year: well done! I can honeslty say I believe this may have been the most complete group of films we’ve gone up against in our three year association with WWFF. A few thoughts on my favorites…

“The Proposal” By Beached Whale – I really enjoyed this one, and loved the song and thought the idea of a music video was cleaver and something we haddnt really seen before.

“Jaystalker” By Pulp Legacy – Amazing idea. Really got a chuckle out of me.

“Press Your Luck” By D.N.A. – Fellow topeka entry and winner of 2nd place. Congrats guys!

“Past Tale” By Lonely Steve – Wow. This one had so much potential. I got what you guys were trying to do, and I think there’s an amazing little film in here somewhere. Keep plugging away!

“El Paso, TX 11:43 P.M.” By Lazy Cat Producitons – Bar none, the funniest episode of COPS ever. Great job!

“Merparty” By Interslice – Again, loved the music and the overall feel of this one. Just a fun little film.

“A Giant (blank)” By SNY Snoodle & The Bax Rebo Band – Another Topeka entry fares well with this very funny, well made movie.

“No Good Deed” By Wild Shooters – WOW. Amazing production work. Easily the slickest, most polished of the films this year.

“Tribute To Buttons” By Clockwork – 3rd place and nice job guys. Drama isnt easy, but you made this work well.

“SUPER FORCE FOUR” By B-Jam – The Peoples Choice award winner. Something tells me we’re all going to be working for these kids someday! Great job!

And lastly, thanks to all the friends, family and fans who liked our work, encouraged us to continue, voluntered thieir time and efforts, and made us look better than we are. Thanks.

See you all at SCARE FEST!

The film “Past-Tale” was actually made by Daisy Hill Division. Is that what you meant?
