More Info:
As with the previous Wild West Film Festivals it is a 48-hour marathon of filming, a challenge for ever the most experienced filmmakers. Entry forms that contain the secret criteria films must follow can be picked up July 10, at Henry’s Coffee House in Lawrence and Fred P. Otts at the Plaza in Kansas City. Finished films (no longer then five-minute) are due 48 hours later, on July 12, at Liberty Hall in Lawrence or Hollywood at Home at the Plaza.
“The time limit is great, though” says Chris Dorsey, founder of the festival “Everyone is facing the same challenge. It sort of levels the playing field.”
Tickets for the screening will be available to the public for $5-7. The top three films as voted by a panel of judges will receive prizes as will the people’s choice winner. The festival’s proceeds will go to benefit Women’s Transitional Care Services.
